Tooth Replacement Basics

What Are Dental Implants?

Dental implants replace missing teeth with a three-part system. A small implant post is placed in the jawbone, then the area heals for three to six months while the post fuses with the bone. After that, an abutment connects the post to a custom crown. For implant-supported bridges, the implants hold the bridge in place instead of nearby teeth.

Dental Implant Services We Offer

A missing tooth can affect daily comfort, speech, and confidence. Our dental implant services and consultations help you explore restoration options that fit your smile.
For one missing tooth, a three-part implant restoration can help restore comfortable chewing while blending naturally with your surrounding smile.
When several teeth are missing, All-on-X Dental Implants can offer an implant-based path toward a more complete and functional smile.
Replace multiple missing teeth while preserving healthy neighboring teeth, since the bridge attaches to dental implants instead of crowns on natural teeth.

Restore your smile

Benefits of Dental Implants

When a tooth is missing, everyday routines can start to feel different in ways that are hard to ignore. Dental implants offer a stable solution that helps rebuild what was lost with results designed to fit naturally into your life, so you can move forward with greater ease and peace of mind.

Eat with Steady Comfort

Enjoy meals without worrying about a loose or shifting replacement. You can bite into everyday foods with more ease, which makes family dinners, lunches out, and holiday meals feel normal again.
Fill in a gap that may be affecting the way certain words sound. Clearer speech can make phone calls, meetings, and casual conversation feel more natural and less distracting.
Because support comes from the jaw, the teeth around the gap do not need to be altered for help. That means you can replace the missing tooth while keeping more of your natural smile intact.
A secure replacement can take the stress out of smiling, laughing, or being photographed. You may find yourself focusing less on the missing tooth and more on the moment in front of you.
Replacing a tooth helps keep the empty space from becoming a bigger problem later. You can reduce the risk of shifting teeth and support a healthier bite pattern over time.
The final tooth is shaped to blend in with your smile, so it does not draw unwanted attention. That makes everyday interactions feel more comfortable, whether you are at work, with friends, or out in public.

A Stronger Smile Can Help You Move Through Each Day with Ease.

A Fit for More People

Are Dental Implants Right for You?

Dental implants fit more situations than most people expect. We look at your smile, your goals, and your overall comfort so you can see what makes the most sense.

Replacing One Missing Tooth

A single gap can make eating and smiling feel uneven. If you want a strong replacement that stands on its own, dental implants may be a good fit for your next step.

Wanting a Secure Option

If loose support has you avoiding certain foods or worrying in public, this service can help. You get a stable replacement that feels more dependable in daily life.

Needing a Long-term Solution

When you want a restoration that blends in and stays supported by your jaw, implants are worth considering. They suit people who are ready for a lasting answer, not a quick patch.

See If This Sounds Like You

A lot of people come in unsure, and that is completely normal. We listen to what you notice day to day, then help you compare that with what dental implants can address.

Your Next Smile Chapter

Dental implants can fit the changes you notice every day, bringing steadier function and calm confidence.

Common questions

Dental Implants FAQs

We know you may have real questions about dental implants, from healing time to daily care. Below, we cover the concerns we hear most often, and if you still want more details, we are here when you need us.

What is a dental implant?

A dental implant is a three-part tooth replacement for one missing tooth. We place a post in the jawbone, let it bond with the bone over three to six months, then attach an abutment and custom crown that looks and functions like a natural tooth.
Most patients with one or more missing teeth can ask about implants, but your jawbone and overall oral health matter. If tooth loss has been there for a while, we may also discuss bone grafting to rebuild support before implant placement.
The treatment timeline usually includes surgery, healing, and the final crown. The healing period often takes three to six months while the post fuses with the jawbone. We can walk you through each step during a free consultation.
You can expect some soreness after surgery, but we focus on comfort-first care and have anxiety-reducing options available. Many patients are surprised by how manageable recovery feels when they follow the aftercare instructions we provide.
A single-tooth dental implant starts at approximately $4,000, and your final cost depends on your treatment plan. We offer free consultations, and payment options are available so you can review your choices before moving forward with care.
We have placed over 100 dental implants, and we use advanced in-office technology to plan treatment with precision. You also get personalized care from Dr. Kaitlyn Spencer and a practice that keeps everything you need under one roof.
An implant-supported bridge replaces several missing teeth and is held in place by implants instead of healthy neighboring teeth. That means we do not need to prepare and cap those teeth with crowns, so they stay untouched.
When a tooth is missing, nearby teeth can shift into the space and the jawbone may lose support over time. That change can affect how your smile looks and how your bite feels, which is why replacement is worth discussing.
Daily care is similar to caring for a natural tooth, with regular brushing, flossing, and routine dental visits. Keeping up with your cleanings helps us monitor the implant, the crown, and the surrounding gum tissue.
We design the crown to blend with your smile so it looks and feels like it belongs there. The final result depends on the shape, color, and fit of your restoration, which we plan around your vision.

A little background: I had some really painful dental experiences as a child/teen and have avoided dentists for most of my adult life. So, it’d been more than 15 years since I’d been to one. But my medical doctor kept on me about going, and since I knew my childhood fillings were turning 50 years old, I finally got the courage to find a dentist. I searched Google, read reviews, and decided to give Beacon Dental a try. I admit that on the day of my appointment, I was hoping there’d be a power outage or some minor event that would cause them to have to cancel. But no such luck! And I’m glad because I had a very positive experience there. EVERYONE was kind and respectful, gave no judgement, and were very patient. They always took the time to tell me what they were going to do and to ask me if I was in any discomfort at all (I wasn’t) before doing the next step. Together we formulated a treatment plan – how many times do you get to say THAT when dealing with any healthcare provider – one that I can live with and uses small steps to get those old fillings taken care of. And they offered a variety of payment options so that I won’t struggle to afford the care I need. So, if you’re like me, with a dentist-phobia, I’d highly recommend them. They make you feel safe and comfortable.
