These Are the Frustrations We Hear Most
If any of this sounds familiar, you are not stuck with it. A single restoration often solves more than you expect.
What Waiting Costs a Damaged Tooth
Small Cracks Grow Larger
A crack that needs a crown today can reach the nerve and become far harder to fix.
Treatment Gets More Involved
What starts as one appointment can turn into several once damage reaches deeper layers.
Neighboring Teeth Shift
Teeth beside an open space tilt and drift, which can complicate your bite and future work.
Costs Climb Over Time
A simple restoration is far less involved than the replacement work needed later on.
Fewer Options Remain
Saving your natural tooth becomes harder once the damage passes a certain point.
Daily Frustration Builds
Months of careful chewing and guarded smiling quietly reshape how you eat and socialize.
Acting now usually means simpler treatment, fewer visits, and a stronger result.
What Are Dental Crowns and Bridges?
A crown is a custom cap that covers a damaged tooth completely, restoring its shape and strength. A bridge (a replacement for one or more missing teeth) uses the teeth on either side of a space as anchors, with a replacement tooth held between them. Both are made from tooth-colored porcelain or ceramic matched to the teeth around them.
Digital scanning replaces the putty impressions you may remember, and our CEREC milling system designs and creates many crowns right here in the office. When you choose dental crowns and bridges in Winterville, our team at Beacon Dental builds your plan from precise images of your teeth and bite, so the fit is right before anything becomes permanent.

Benefits of Dental Crowns and Bridges

What to Expect During Your Crown or Bridge Visit
Exam and Planning
We start with a close look at the tooth, along with digital X-rays and 3D imaging when the situation calls for it. You will see the images yourself and hear exactly what we find. Together we decide whether a crown, a bridge, or a different approach makes the most sense, and you leave knowing the full plan.
Comfortable Preparation
On treatment day, we numb the area thoroughly before anything begins, and nitrous oxide or oral sedation is available if you would rather relax through it. The tooth is gently shaped so the restoration seats correctly, and most patients feel pressure rather than anything sharp. You can pause at any point.
Digital Scan and Design
Instead of a tray of putty, a small handheld scanner captures your teeth in a few minutes. That scan becomes a digital model used to design a restoration matched to your bite and to the color of the teeth beside it. You will see the design on screen before anything is made.
Placement and Fit
Many crowns are milled in our office and placed the same day, so you walk out finished. Bridges and certain crowns are created in a dental laboratory, which means a temporary in between and a short second visit. Either way, we check your bite carefully, adjust until it feels natural, and polish the surface smooth.

Life After Your Crown or Bridge
First 24 to 48 Hours
Numbness fades within a few hours, and mild sensitivity to hot or cold is common while the tooth settles. Stick with softer foods on that side and chew gently. Over-the-counter pain relief handles any tenderness for most patients, and the restoration usually starts feeling normal by the second day.
First Week
Your bite continues to adapt, and the restoration should stop registering as something new within a few days. Keep brushing and flossing as you normally would, sliding the floss out sideways around a bridge. If anything feels high or uneven when you bite down, a quick adjustment takes care of it.
